Arrow Coffee x GOEX Apparel
We are finally excited to announce that we have loyalty shirts back in stock. We promise our shortage wasn't due to complete negligence or total failure on our part.
Instead, we are thrilled to announce that we have partnered with GOEX Apparel: which is wholly owned by The Global Orphan Project; a global Orphan Care and Orphan Prevention ministry headquartered in Kansas City.
100% of GOEX's profits go to help care for orphaned and abandoned children.
GOEX Artisan is a global boutique dedicated to Orphan Prevention. World class designers help local workers among the poor – mostly single moms – make beautiful, hand-crafted products that embody their own uplifting beauty.
Similar to the way that we work with our coffee suppliers to guarantee a living wage for their labor, we have partnered with GOEX Apparel to provide their own state-of-the-art production center in Haiti and decorate in their print shop in Kansas City, MO. All of our employees earn a local living wage.
Each product GOEX sells meets these minimum standards:
- LIFTING PAY - Each local maker earns at least double the local minimum wage. We want the local makers to experience the dignity of caring for their own families, rather than standing in aid lines.
- DIGNIFIED ENVIRONMENT - We have personally inspected and engaged in the production boutiques where our products are made. The environments are both safe and supportive.
- EXCELLENT QUALITY - The quality of our products must reflect the high value of the local makers who crafted the products.
Well, so what? That all sounds great, but when we boil it down (and maybe make coffee with that boiling) we are still just people in the Midwest. But to us, that is what matters. We are all people of our environments, most of us didn't choose to be where we are, but that doesn't mean we can't embrace the idea of community. So yes, it is just a t shirt; a shirt that you earned by drinking coffee sourced and made with sustainable, farm direct, living wage practices. But our decisions matter, and our decisions with GOEX help empower others.
We are all people. We all have a story to tell, and at Arrow Coffee we want to be intentional with the narrative that we are telling. To us, that is what it means to embody community.
Live Local. Think Global.
