NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER
November Guest Roaster - Black and White Coffee Roasters, Wake Forest North Carolina
We are super excited to be welcoming Black and White onto the Arrow Coffee bar. Black and White was started by two former United States Barista Champions, Lem Butler and Kyle Ramage. Black and White is based out of Wake Forest, North Carolina.
The main reason we chose Black and White was due to the fact that many of their coffees are “competition” grade coffees at an affordable price. Many of the coffees they have are either experimental lots or rare varieties that produce exceptional cups of coffee. We are lucky enough to be featuring at least two of those coffees.
Ethiopia Gesha Village Natural
The Gesha Village in Ethiopia is known for its exceptional coffees. These coffees fetch some of the highest prices and are usually only available via auctions. In recent years, the Gesha varietal has become the most sought after varietal due to its delicate flavor profile. In this coffee, you will notice a gentle, floral body and juicy finish. We are tasting mango, pomegranate, and honey.
Colombia El Eden Java
This coffee is an experimental lot. Prior to being washed, the coffee was fermented in an anaerobic environment to extract some unique flavors out of it. This coffee is also a rare varietal named “java.” We are tasting notes of citrus zest, tamarind, and cane sugar.
Winter Seasonal Menu
On November 18th we will be launching our first winter menu. We will be doing a unique menu punch card to promote these drinks (more details will be provided via Instagram). The menu will feature the following drinks:
Hopped Peppermint Mocha - peppermint syrup, dark chocolate, espresso, milk, and infused with hops.
Winterberry Latte - cranberry syrup, peppermint syrup, milk, and espresso.
Gingerbread Frankie - a 6 oz cappuccino with a gingerbread syrup, espresso, milk, and grated nutmeg. Served in toddy glass.
Salted Caramel Cold Brew - Arrow cold brew, salted caramel sauce, spiced vanilla sweet cream.
